How the estimate works
Usage = input tokens × input price + output tokens × output price, at the model's list price as published on OpenRouter (which passes provider prices through without markup). Cached input, batch discounts and reasoning tokens are not modeled: reasoning models bill their thinking as output tokens, so count it there.
A rough rule for English text: one token is about three quarters of a word. Your provider dashboard shows your real monthly token counts.
